Encouragement for An Injured Rugger

This article was recently brought to my attention. The type of support the friends and family are asking for is very simple and anyone with internet access can share words of encouragement and stories with Peter Collier. "High School Player in Washington Hospitalized" March 29, 2011 High School/U19 Rugby, Rugby News by Ted Hardy, Editor, Rugby America Peter Collier of the U19 Schoolhouse Rugby Club in Washington State fractured his C4 and C5 vertebrae making a tackle in a game this past weekend. Collier is able to walk, but had to be put in a halo. After reassessment it was determined that the halo was not successful and that Collier would have to go into surgery. Collier’s surgery is scheduled for this afternoon. The overall prognosis is good for the young man from Wenatchee, but his spirits are low and his family is very worried as are his teammates and coaches. “He was injured making a hard tackle that you all would have been proud of,” said Collier’s coach with Schoolhouse U19′s. To help boost Collier’s spirits, his coaches are reaching out to the global rugby community. They are asking rugby players far and wide to visit Peter Collier’s Caring Bridge page, http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/petercollier/mystory and post messages of encouragement to his guestbook. Please share this message with your friends and teammates and pass it along.
