Volunteers Needed Please remember that our club only flourishes thanks to the hard work put in by our Parent, Alumni and Player volunteers!  Without your support, nothing would happen.  If you find yourself able to lend a hand, the following volunteer positions need to be filled: Vice-President Treasurer Special Events Coordinator If you are interested in filling any of these positions, or any others, please let the club know by filling out our Volunteer Application.   Save The Date - Barbarian's Alumni Match June 1, 2013 - The annual Barbarian Alumni Match is on the books!  This is a great event for Barbarian Alumni to come out and meet the current players, reminisce about old times and show us all that you've still got "it".  Last year this event was a great success, not only fielding a great game, but also providing some monetary support for the club's Vision Fund.  Of course, we're looking to improve this year!  Stay tuned for further details.    Save The Date - Golf Tournament September 15, 2013 - mark that date down in your calendars!  Ok, your day planner may not go out that far yet, but Budd Bay is already starting to plan for our annual Vision Fund Golf Tournament!  Our previous event was a huge success, but this year we are really turning it up a notch.  We'll be playing at Delphi Golf Course, a beautiful course out on Delphi Road.  Lots more details to come, but be sure to save the date!  If you would like to get involved, or know someone who might like to sponsor a hole, please get in touch with Rena who has volunteered to coordinate the event. Match Reports Sat. 4/20/13 - Buffaloes at PNRFU Championships, Salem - W 56-23 Sun. 4/21/13 - Buffaloes at PNRFU Championships, Corvalis - L 27-24 Sun. 4/21/13 - Seelheads vs Prairie Crush - W 105-10 The Steelheads played their last league game of the season Sunday in front of the home crowd against the first year team Prairie Crush from Yelm. The Steelheads won the game 105 to 10 bringing the Steelheads record to 4 and 1 for the season, making the team the number two seed for the state playoffs. Next week the Steelheads will have a friendly at home against Rainier Plateau and on 5 MAY will play Shelton at home for the state semifinal. Lacey Parks noticed a large amount of trash and gear/clothing at Rainier Vista last weekend.  Please help us retain our rights to our home field by cleaning up when you leave, and taking all your gear with you! New Sponsors! I'm pleased to announce that the H.D. Fowler Company has been added to our list of key sponsors!  Sponsorships are the primary way in which Budd Bay is able to maintain our low fee structures and still provide our players with jerseys, training equipment, field space, insurance, etc., and we are incredibly grateful to those organizations making an effort to support local rugby.  Feel free to welcome H.D. Match Reports Sat. 4/13/13 - Buffaloes at Kitsap - W 76-0 Sun. 4/14/13 - Steelheads at Portland L 24-34 Ryann Anderson (2C), Kenzie Ferguson (T), Megan Johnson (2T), Josie Markoff (T)  The Steelheads traveled to Portland for a non-league match on Sunday 14 APR with the Lady Barbarians, one of the premier teams in Oregon and the nation. This offered the team a chance to get all 25 girls that made the trip experience playing against a highly competitive side in preparation for the state playoffs that begin on 5 May.  The first half ended with the Steelheads up 14 to 5 in a hard fought contest. In the second half the tide turned and the final score was 24-34 in favor of the Lady Barbarians. Event Coordinator Needed

In only 2 months Budd Bay Rugby will be hosting the 21st annual Tatunka 7's Tournament. Unfortunately, we haven't yet had anyone volunteer to be this year's tournament coordinator. Without a tournament coordinator, the event is in great jeopardy! Mary Shero has run the event (excellently!) for the last few years, and has laid a fantastic framework, making the job as easy as it has ever been. However, we do need someone to step into this role, providing a point of contact for registrants, coordination for equipment rentals and field setup, and problem solving on the day of the tournament. We have lots of info on how to run this event as smoothly as possible, and Mary has agreed to answer questions as needed. PLEASE - IF YOU'RE AT ALL INTERESTED, WE REALLY NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!
