Holiday Party Huge Success!
To all those who attended the Holiday Party - thank you so much for your contribution towards the Vision of our club!  For those who weren't there - read on for the incredibly exciting news announced at the event.
The event was filled with fun and frivolity, and couldn't have been as successful as it was without help from the following sponsors:
And other prize donors:
And a special thanks to:
Alex Goff
Brain Vizard for his keynote speech
Rick and Cindy LaValla for hosting the great event!
Now on to the highlights!
Youth
Developing our youth program is a core foundation of our Vision, and Budd Bay is pleased to announce the formation of an annual scholarship to be given to student athletes headed to college!  The application for this scholarship is currently under development and will be released in the coming months.  If you're a graduating senior, please consider applying!
Haiti
Over the years, Budd Bay Rugby has worked hard to promote giving back to the rugby community, and one of the ways we have chosen to further this cause is through a relationship with Helping Hands Noramise and their burgeoning rugby program being developed in Haiti.  To that end, Budd Bay Rugby has sent Trevor Anderson to Haiti to work on developing coaches and players there.  Click here to see a short video of work and rugby in Haiti.  We look forward to an update upon his return!
New Field
One of Budd Bay Rugby's most ambitious goals is to own our own rugby pitch.  Due to a generous donation in the past from the Frank & BJ Parker estate, as well as over $20,000 contributed by members, friends and family of our club to our Vision Fund, we are pleased to announce that we have made an offer on a piece of property to call home!  The offer was accepted, and the club is currently undergoing a feasibility review to ensure that the property will meet all of our needs appropriately.  This is so exciting for all of us, and of course is just the first step in a long road towards having our own lit fields, storage, and maybe even a clubhouse!  If you would like more details about this adventure, please attend a board meeting, or reach out to one of our board members.
Donations
Of course, the whole event was a fundraiser for our Vision Fund to ensure that all of the activities above can continue to grow and develop in the coming years.  And as in years past, the club's supporters did not disappoint.  Between entry fees, raffles, auctions, and games of Left-Right-Center, the club earned $4,513!
More Donations!
Of course, there was one last surprise for the evening.  Rick Lavalla, who made our field pursuit possible due to his generous donation to the club on the behalf of the Frank & BJ Parker estate, presented the club with a check, to be used to further the development of our new field, for $40,000.00!  This brought the evening's totals to $44,513, our second most successful event ever!
Again, thank you to all who have helped make it possible to be where we are today.  And as always, if you are interested in being a part of these amazing steps we're taking, reach out to someone in the club leadership - they'll be able to point you in the right direction!

Upcoming Events
The season is about to hit us in full swing, and there are a number of events coming up in the next 2 months.  Please review carefully and make sure you attend those early-season events that you need to be at!  And of course, registration is open!

Coaching in Haiti
Update: Your support has been amazing!  The club is very close to reaching our goal to send Trevor to Haiti!  We're now entering the final week - help us make sure we can support Trevor and Haition Rugby to the fullest extend possible.  Donate now!
The youth of Haiti are eager to play rugby, and BBRFC wants to help!
In partnership with Helping Hands Noramise, Budd Bay Rugby, a 501c3 non-profit organization, has the opportunity to send a representative to Limbe, Haiti to coach a clinic focused on developing Haitian coaches that will remain in the area to continue working with the youth. This clinic will help build a sustainable foundation for rugby to grow in Haiti.
Budd Bay Rugby has worked with Helping Hands Noramise for several years. The organization was started by one of the original Budd Bay Rugby players, Rosedanie Cadet. Our club has sent rugby balls, t-shirts, water bottles, cleats and other equipment to Haiti, but we have yet to be able to help them build their coaching base. Rugby is really picking up in Limbe, and there is a need for qualified coaches to continue building the sport. Helping Hands Noramise is coordinating a coaching development clinic to share those skills with the people of Limbe so that they can continue to build the sport in their region.
Budd Bay Rugby has selected Trevor Anderson to represent our club at the coaching clinic in Limbe, Haiti. Trevor has been a part of Budd Bay since its inception, as a player, volunteer, board member and coach. He is currently the coaching director for our club and will bring his knowledge of and passion for the sport to Haiti with him.Donate Now
This fundraiser has been launched to raise $2,000.00 by January 1st, 2014 so that we can send Trevor Anderson as our representative to help facilitate the coaching clinic.
We are quickly approaching the deadline to raise money, so please!!! Help Budd Bay Rugby send Trevor Anderson to Haiti to help create a sustainable base for rugby to grow in Haiti!
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Budd Bay Rugby can provide donors with a receipt for donations (minus the small fee charged by GoFundME!). All donations to Budd Bay Rugby are tax deductible.
