This weekend

Hi all, great stuff coming up this weekend!

The Buffaloes play Eugene Saturday at Rainier Vista, kickoff at 1:30 pm. Be sure to stop on by and watch them continue their defense of their League Championships!

On Sunday, the first annual Budd Bay Rugby Golf Tournament will be held at Airport Golf & Batting Center. Check in starts at 12 pm, tee off at 1:00 pm. A $50 registration fee gets you 9 holes of golf, a set of custom BBRFC golf balls, tees and ball markers, and a contribution towards the Vision Fund. That's right, all proceeds from the tournament will be directed to Budd Bay Rugby's dedicated fund for building our own pitch. Just imagine - no scheduling conflicts, no lighting issues, no soccer lines! There are numerous prizes available, including BBRFC Gear, a subscription to RugbyMag, free sessions at Xtreme Virtual Golf, and more.

Spots are still open, register online here, or show up at Airport Golf & Batting Center on Sunday at 12:00 pm!

See you all this weekend!

Updates

The 2011-2012 Rugby Season is officially underway! Congratulations to the Buffaloes for winning their season opener against the Kitsap Renegades, 55-10.

Thanks to Cory McClanahan for the great match report:

The weather came before the match, and by kickoff, it was perfect rugby weather. A spirited match was played by both sides. The following guys scored tries; Chan Yann 2, Joel Swenson 2tries/2conv, Britt Cleveland 2, Nick McKenna 1try/2conv, Kurt Webb 1, Cuz 1try/1conv.
We have a lot of work to do, but it was a good opener, and a solid win.

The Bandits chose not to field a team this year. The women are now looking for a new Head Coach, as well as a few individuals who are interested in taking on some leadership roles to help get the team back to it's Pac Coast Championship status. If you are interested, or know someone who is, please let me know. We'd love to have the women playing again in the Spring - but we need responsible individuals to help make it happen!

Coaches Davis and Dillashaw continue to gear up for the start of the U-19 teams, stay tuned for further updates as to registration opening and practice dates. As always, our website will continue to remain a great source for that information.

Looking forward to continued success on, and off, the pitch throughout the upcoming season!
