Buffaloes Are PNRFU Champions!
A hearty congratulations to coaches Dr. Phil and Eddie Haigh and all the Buffaloes for winning yet another PNW DIII Championship! An excellent weekend (4/12-4/13) for the men as they handled Portland 36-17 to earn a spot in the Championship. Then, on Sunday in the Final, they ousted Salem 29-22 to retain the Championship title for one more year. If/when you see any of the Buffaloes, please extend your congratulations and thanks for another great season.
Coaches Needed for Rookie Rugby
We need your skills and expertise to help Budd Bay Rugby develop and mold the next generation of ruggers.
Budd Bay Rugby has developed a unique 2-week program beginning in June to grow both our player base and our coaching base. Coaches may pick and choose the days that they would like to coach and since the program is based on materials from USA Rugby all you really need to do is show up and be ready to lead. You can coach in teams or alone and have the option of committing to just 1 evening or 4 evenings.
We firmly believe each and every one of you has a skill you can share with these young ruggers and your club! All you need to do is commit.
Please let Rena (fields@buddbayrugby.com) know ASAP what day you would like to come out and coach! Practices are at Bush Park during our regular practice times and we will wrap up the program with a demonstration match and awards ceremony during our Super Saturday 7’s Tournament on June 14th at Evergreen.
And for all those interested parents - stay tuned for registration info! This is a co-ed touch program for those 12 and under and all players receive a ball, a t-shirt for just $65.00, but the love of rugby they gain will last a lifetime!

A very special congratulations to Erica Webb (Bandits) and Kurt Webb (Buffaloes) who welcomed our newest rugger, Adriana, into their lives! 8lbs 15.6oz, 21 inches long. Born at 7:03am on 4/18/2014!
Welcome New Club Treasurer!
Please welcome Nicole Hoff to the Budd Bay Rugby family! Nicole was recently confirmed by the Board of Directors to fill the vacant board position of Treasurer. Nicole is a practicing accountant who is interested in spending more time working with a 501c3 organization, and we're happy she has chosen to work with us! As the tax season winds down, Nicole's involvement with us will ramp up, so look to see financial responsibilities transition to her over the next few months.

Grass to Mow - Can you help?
In case you missed the big announcement, Budd Bay recently purchased 5 acres of land on which we plan to build our own field. While we have a lot of work to do prior to kicking off on our own pitch, there is still some maintenance that needs to happen to keep the property looking reasonable.
So this is a call to Mow.
We have about 1.5 acres needing mowing; anticipate about 3 hours with a push mower. The club does not have a mower (yet), so we need volunteers who can provide their own lawnmower. If you have the time, but not a mower, please let us know that too and we will see if we can make arrangements.
If you are able to help us maintain the property, please email Tom at tcus461@ecy.wa.gov and indicate what days/weekends work for you. Tom will be putting together a schedule and letting you know when it's your turn. Thank you!
BBRFC High School Scholarship Award Program
Budd Bay Rugby is pleased to announce our new High School Scholarship Award Program! The scholarship grant is for Five Hundred dollars ($500) to assist college-bound students who will pursue courses at two or four-year universities and colleges during the upcoming academic year. Evaluation will be based on academic performance, participation in school & community activities, and educational goals.
The application should be submitted by interested high school seniors attending South Sound-area schools. An official, current, sealed transcript must be included. Attach three letters of recommendation that exemplify your leadership in school and in the community. One letter must be written by a teammate, one by a coach, and one by a community leader in reference to your service. Completed applications should be mailed to Budd Bay RFC and postmarked no later than April 30, 2014. All applicants will be notified by mail within three weeks of the application deadline.

It has been a long time since the Buffaloes have beat Bend. Both forward and back play was very good. We dominated set pieces and loose play. Backs and forwards supported each other in the loose which made for some very exciting tries. Buffaloes play Bend in the first round of the playoffs next weekend. |

Budd Bay decided to technically forfeit the game due to importing players from Kent and using some excess Eastside players to fill their full 15. Of all the games we get to play in this competition the boys especially like playing Budd Bay – this collective group of boys have really bonded. Eastside won the subsequent game in a great contest 59-25 |

Having played solid rugby all year, finally the boys were rewarded with a big "W" they derserved. With alot of parity in the league, if we can stay on track, and work hard, playoffs and within reach. I know this group can do it! |

The bandits made us proud today as they crushed the team from Chuckanut!!! The weather was awful! Torrential down pour for most of the match. Final score: 57-0 bandits!!! Tries scored by: Echo, Arayel, Malory, Quincy, Machal, Erica Legaspi, Shoni, Wigals, and Jo!!! Great team support shown by all, especially Shoni and Jo's team try! Great first match for Brianna Looney! Great returning match for Pineapple! A big thanks to Kiersten who played for the other team! A huge shout out to Carrick for jumping in as referee! And a gracious thanks to the amazing "spectators in the rain"!!!! |

The Team Kit Order Form is used for Training Shirts and Team Kits (Shorts, Socks & Mouthguards). These items may be available in stock for immediate purchase, however, ordering at least two weeks in advance is still recommended ensuring receipt on time. You will be notified if your item is out of stock or will otherwise take longer to fulfill.
The Supporter's Gear Order Form is used for club gear including T shirts, Hoodies, Beanies, Jackets, Bags, etc. These items are not in stock - orders will be placed at regular intervals for all forms received by that date. Prices listed are contingent on minimum orders being received. You will be notified if your item is not available at the listed price or timeframe.
