It was a gorgeous spring day in Bellingham when the Steelheads and Chuckanut Redbacks took the field in Bellingham for a rematch. The Steelheads had a glorious outing with the final score Steelheads 37 and Chuckanut 15. In the first half the team scored 5 tries with Tonya Dixon scoring 3, Megan Johnson 1 and Kaylee Parvinen 1, with Bethany Boice making 1 conversion. The Ladies of Steel's defense held the Redbacks scoreless in this half. In the Second half the Redbacks charged back with three tries- 1 from Quessandra Catlett, 1 from Kyleigh Wells and 1 from Malie Laolagi. The Steelheads answered with two tries 1 by Bethany Boice and 1 by Kelsey Stockert. Another great match Ladies!!The Steelheads are looking forward to facing Harbor next week in Tacoma.
Our women Bandits travelled to Portland this Saturday to play the Piggies at their home pitch. The pitch was muddy but the sky was sunny. Final Score 10-Zero, Piggies win. Bandits traveled with only a first 15 (no subs) and played all 80 min without losing their vigour. It was a clean and physical match, and both sides played with class. Bandits worked hard and played well. In the words of the Sir "...the only two tries were had because of outstanding support and persistence on the part of the Piggies, and not from lack of resistance by the Bandits."
