Coaching in Haiti
Update: Your support has been amazing!  The club is very close to reaching our goal to send Trevor to Haiti!  We're now entering the final week - help us make sure we can support Trevor and Haition Rugby to the fullest extend possible.  Donate now!
The youth of Haiti are eager to play rugby, and BBRFC wants to help!
In partnership with Helping Hands Noramise, Budd Bay Rugby, a 501c3 non-profit organization, has the opportunity to send a representative to Limbe, Haiti to coach a clinic focused on developing Haitian coaches that will remain in the area to continue working with the youth. This clinic will help build a sustainable foundation for rugby to grow in Haiti.
Budd Bay Rugby has worked with Helping Hands Noramise for several years. The organization was started by one of the original Budd Bay Rugby players, Rosedanie Cadet. Our club has sent rugby balls, t-shirts, water bottles, cleats and other equipment to Haiti, but we have yet to be able to help them build their coaching base. Rugby is really picking up in Limbe, and there is a need for qualified coaches to continue building the sport. Helping Hands Noramise is coordinating a coaching development clinic to share those skills with the people of Limbe so that they can continue to build the sport in their region.
Budd Bay Rugby has selected Trevor Anderson to represent our club at the coaching clinic in Limbe, Haiti. Trevor has been a part of Budd Bay since its inception, as a player, volunteer, board member and coach. He is currently the coaching director for our club and will bring his knowledge of and passion for the sport to Haiti with him.Donate Now
This fundraiser has been launched to raise $2,000.00 by January 1st, 2014 so that we can send Trevor Anderson as our representative to help facilitate the coaching clinic.
We are quickly approaching the deadline to raise money, so please!!! Help Budd Bay Rugby send Trevor Anderson to Haiti to help create a sustainable base for rugby to grow in Haiti!
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Budd Bay Rugby can provide donors with a receipt for donations (minus the small fee charged by GoFundME!). All donations to Budd Bay Rugby are tax deductible.

Giving Thanks
Budd Bay Rugby survives on the kindness and generosity of the volunteers, sponsors and donors who endlessly provide time and money to allow our club to continue on.  Without all of you - friends, family, players, supporters and local businesses - we'd be little more than a rag tag bunch of 13 players trying to fill a full side.
In order to express our gratitude for the constant support, BBRFC has made volunteer activities a staple for our club since its formation.  It's good to remind ourselves that we are part of this community, and that we, collectively, can give a little back to those in need.
Last weekend, over 40 ruggers banded together to dedicate 3 hours on a Saturday to tackle a new challenge - volunteering at the Thurston County Food Bank.  We had members from each team show up, and were able to pack over 8 pallets of goods to be distributed to centers throughout Thurston County.
It was a wonderful turnout for an event dedicated to expressing our Thanks to the community that spends so much throughout the year to take care of us.
Check out pictures here.
To those that have given to Budd Bay Rugby this year, please accept our sincerest thanks.  To everyone, please have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
And to those looking to continue helping out, please read on for some more great ways to give back!

Giving Tuesday
December 3rd, 2013
BBRFC is joining the ranks of global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more to create Giving Tuesday, a way to bring the holiday week to a full circle. Budd Bay will be focusing on our two main initiatives right now - Sending a coach to Haiti, and our Vision Fund.
You can read above for more info on the great plans for Haiti, but if you'd like to help BBRFC further develop our club's vision - a field where every athlete can grow in the love of rugby - then read on for a few ideas.
Columbia Bank is celebrating their 20th anniversary by donating $20,000 to local non-profit organizations, and we'd like Budd Bay Rugby's Vision Fund to be one of those recipients!  Please follow this link to nominate Budd Bay Rugby.  It won't cost you anything other than a few minutes of your time, and being a recipient would be a huge boost for our goals!
Of course, you can always donate directly to the Vision Fund here if you would prefer!

Community Outreach - This Saturday
Giving back to the community has been a staple for our club since its formation, and has also done a lot to increase our visibility. It's good to remind ourselves that we are part of this community, and we, collectively, can give a little back to those in need. With this philosophy in mind, Budd Bay Rugby will be volunteering at the Food Bank on Saturday, November 23 from 1 to 4 pm. This work with the Food Bank is a great reminder of how fortunate many of us are, and gives us an opportunity to help others in a real way.
Please let your coach know about your availability so we can arrange things with the Food Bank. And if you have another family member who would like too help out, let your coach know that to so we can make arrangements!
To recap - Saturday, Nov. 23, 1-4 pm, Thurston County Food Bank. 3 hours preparing Thanksgiving meal boxes for those that won't have the opportunity to feast with family and friends. Everyone should wear club colors, jerseys, etc. See you there!

Good day for the Buffaloes. Very physical match overall. Very positive forward play. Backs were forced to play very tough defense against a strong running Pigs side. Buffaloes finish 8-0 in our first half of the season. Long winter break until March.
