Barbarian State Champs

Hi All,

Congratulations to the Barbarians, the Washington State Champions.

I came across this great article about the Barbarians on Rugby Mag and wanted to pass it along.  Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing everyone out at 7's this summer!

Steelheads At it Again

Another glorious and sunny day of rugby as the Ladies of Steel close out the regular season with a win against the Shelton Stingers 34 to 0. Five girls scored a try - Kelsi Stockert scored two tries, with Tonya Dixon, Rachel Ybarra , Josie Markoff, Carley Bowen (a first for the rookie) scoring 1 try and Bethany Boice with two successful conversions. It was a a very physical game and Shelton was in the red zone a few times, but the staunch Steelhead defense successfully denied them a score.
The Steelheads take Mother's day off this week and continue preparing for the state playoffs being held in Shelton on the 14 and 15th of May. Going into the tournament the Steelheads are solidly the second seed, only losing this season to perennial rival Kent. The semifinal on Saturday will be against Shelton (time TBD)- the Steelheads are expecting them to come back hard on their home field. Should be a weekend full of youth rugby (U19Boys/Girls and U16 Boys)- with any luck we all will suffer a little sunburn injury- come join us if you can.
